Most women like wearing high
Heels, and even those that don’t sometimes find themselves obliged to form a
Special occasion. Wearing heels is certainly not easy and the height of the
The heel is extremely important for the safety and comfort of the feet. It also has
a lot to do with the specific outfit as killer heels don’t go with everything.
How should you choose your high heels?
Those craved 12cm killer
Heels can have detrimental effects on the feet. Not only will you be feeling
tired and sore after spending a couple of hours on those, but you can also
place yourself in danger of suffering from a range of conditions. Metatarsalgia
is one of those conditions – severe pain in the ball of the foot. You can also
cause great stress to the joints in the foot, get big calluses, experience pain
in the back, and so on.
If you do, however, really
want to wear such shoes, a way to decrease the problems is to opt for shoes
with a platform at the front. Even if the platform is just 1 or 2 centimeters, it
will decrease the actual heel height you have to endure. Still, if the event
you are going to require a lot of walking or standing up, choose a heel of
smaller height – 7 centimeters also look very elegant and will allow you to enjoy
the event rather than wish it to be over very soon. For a full day of walking
or standing up, choose a heel not higher than 2 centimeters.
Another way to reduce the
stress of wearing extremely high heels is to choose a design with lots of
straps or other type of coverage. The higher a help you choose, the more
difficult it will be for your foot to stay within the shoe. If you have enough
ankle straps and enough toe straps, you are more likely to feel comfortable in
the shoe. If you want a more clean and elegant shoe with just a few thin straps
here and there, choose it with lower heels.
The shape of the heel is
also very important when choosing the height. 12 cm stilettos do look
incredibly amazing, but unless you will be sitting for 90% of the time, this
will not work for you. In general, the bulkier the heel is, the easier it will
be to manage. So if you want to go with the 12 centimeters, try to find shoes
with thicker heels. They don’t have to be enormous (as they really don’t look
that good), but as long as they are not extra thin, you should be fine.
Another thing to consider
when choosing your heels is what exactly you need them for. Super high heels
can be great for clubbing, or fine dining, but are not exactly a wise choice
for the office – they will not invoke the image of a businesswoman, but rather
another, less desired image. You will
look far better in 3 – 4 centimeters at the office.
Don’t torture yourself with
super high heels if you have never worn any in your life. It doesn’t matter how
special the occasion is – you will not only feel uncomfortable, but also risk
embarrassing yourself by tripping over your feet.
Finally, take into
consideration your height, build and the structure of the outfit you intend to
wear. You should try to find shoes that complement your figure and flatter the
outfit. Wearing the optimum
heel height based on your figure and the proportions of the outfit you are
going to wear will result in you being able to carry yourself more confidently,
and will make the most of the clothes that you are wearing. This is not easy to
get right, as there are infinite possibilities, but the best advice is to
experiment with different shoes until you find the perfect combination.
